Promoting Equality - Enhancing Lives

DAT has a mission and vision to provide Disability Awareness Training to organisations wishing to train staff in how to better serve disabled people. We deliver training that is entertaining, educational and based on real-life experience. We are passionate about achieving equality, demonstrating diversity and improving access. We are a partnership dedicated to educating the public about how people with disabilities manage in the modern world and identifying areas for improvement.

It may seem obvious that investment in training would benefit your staff and organisation, but unfortunately there are many companies that neglect disability awareness education. We want to help you to challenge the attitudes, perceptions and expectations relating to disability by providing a training course that is both thought-provoking and educational.

The Benefits

Many public and private sector organisations seem to be missing a trick when it comes to disability training. To many it is taboo. We believe that through training and discussion, barriers can be broken down and compassionate understanding can be achieved.

Imagine the difference that creative, practical and stimulating Disability Awareness Training could have on your workforce. See our list opposite:

Having a disability can be difficult for the disabled person to live with. When visiting businesses, it can be rather tiring and frustrating explaining what is required each time. It is always refreshing to be greeted by a competent and helpful member of staff with knowledge of any special requirements. We can help you to achieve this.

  • Demonstrate to your staff and customers the importance you place on inclusivity and diversity
  • Provide confidence to your staff when dealing with disabled people
  • Prevent potentially awkward and embarrassing situations arising
  • Empower and motivate front-line staff
  • Enable your organisation to offer superior customer service
